Busch Light Releases New Flavor
Anyone who has been drinking Busch beers for any length of time knows that the apple doesn’t just not fall far from the tree, it never falls at all … until today. Busch has begun a limited release of Busch Light Apple – the first new flavor innovation in the 65-year history of the brand. In a press release issued by VP of Value Brands at Anheuser-Busch, Daniel Blake, “the development and launch of Busch Light Apple is one of the most significant moments in our brand’s 65-year history. We tested this flavor and knew immediately that out fans would love the crisp, refreshing taste.”
There is no information on this limited release regarding when or for how long the beer will be available or if it’s a one-time thing or might become a regular style like Bud Light Lime. We do know it will be limited to select stores in 19 states – North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas. Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Utah, Florida and Texas. You know, the Drinkin’ States.
Busch Light Apple can already be found in Texas, if you know where to look. I did not. I did, however, remember having a friend at Brown Distributing who, it turns out, knew where some of the beers had been delivered. A quick trip to the Pflugerville Entertainment District and I was ready to try one (or three).
Chip – You immediately smell apples … why are you looking at me like that?
Mike – Just making sure that’s not a sign of a stroke.
Chip – That’s toast, jackass.
Mike – It certainly has a strong apple taste … Tex (the T-Rex), try this.
Tex the T-Rex – It’s like Fall just exploded in my mouth.
Chip – Who?
Mike – I think it drinks like light beer but the aftertaste is great. What do you …
Chip – I already finished mine (walking into bathroom)
Mike – Atta you, Johnny Apple Peed.
Chip – Shut up.
